Day 7 – Dingboche, Acclimatisation

A peak in the mastiff of the Ama Dablam peak (6,814mtrs)

It didn’t actually snow much, but it was a cold night. The morning was still overcast, but the clouds higher so not as oppressive as the afternoon previously.

Begin: 3,770 mtrs
End: 3,770 mtrs
Distance: 8kms
Duration: 4.5hrs

We had a vigorous walk today, climbing very quickly up around 300mtrs quite quickly. It was a bit of, “why are we doing this”?, but then you understood later that this was all part of getting us used to the elevation, getting used to pushing ourselves at such altitude, making our bodies work and accustom ourselves to exertion.
